A small robot was standing behind Nefarious, but the reinforced door was closed right on his robotic nose, leaving Ratchet and Nefarious alone. The robot has a devilish smile on his face as he walks in and stands in front of Ratchet. Looking in the direction of the voice, Ratchet sees Nefarious standing in the doorway. For a mad scientist, that robot sometimes can be surprising. Even worse, Nefarious has somehow managed to usurp the identity of the emperor. Ratchet tried to track them down and that is when a bounty hunter robot got him and brought him back to the palace. His best friend was gone, and so was the Lombax who kidnapped him. Right after escaping Nefarious City, he fought his way to the last known location of Clank only to discover he arrived too late. ![]() Hearing the voice of Nefarious makes Ratchet groan internally. He is in a gray room with nothing but light bulbs and a camera on the roof and a large vertical table to which he is attached by electronics bracelets on his arms and legs. Ratchet look away from the light bulbs and blinks several times, letting his eyes adjust to the new luminosity. Two maybe? Hard to tell when you're in a high security dark and soundproofed cell somewhere in a huge palace. ![]() Please help improve this article by editing it.Light suddenly clear away the darkness by which Ratchet was surrounded for now at least a day. Reaction This section is about fan reaction to the characters sexuality/gender identity. While not being confirmed from anyone behind the Ratchet & Clank video games, because of her design, It’s possible that Rivet is transgender, in the games, male Lombax’s have tails, while female Lombax’s don’t, and that her chest is designed somewhere to be flat, so because of this, she could very likely be transgender. ![]() On March 29th, 2022, Sam Maggs, who was the former Head Writer of the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart video game early in development, tweeted out claiming that Rivet is canonically a lesbian. Rivet suffers from some degree of PTSD due to losing her arm on a mission. Throughout the story, Rivet manages to break through the barriers of loneliness to the point of accepting Kit as her partner, becoming a happier individual. Despite claims of being used to working alone and preferring to not have a partner, Rivet is very lonely, at least until she meets Clank, Ratchet, and Kit. However, being a loner has left her socially awkward, skeptical, sour, jaded, and being unacquainted with teamwork. She is described as being a secret softie but attempts to hide it with a tough exterior. In addition, much like her counterpart, Rivet is willing to put her life on the line to protect the downtrodden and help those in dire need. Like Ratchet, Rivet is heroic, adventure-loving, sassy, quick to act, and prone to making witty jokes in tense situations. She also uses a hammer as her main weapon. This may be because of her being from a different dimension, giving her anatomical differences. Unlike the only other known female lombax, Angela Cross, she has a long bushy tail similar to that of a raccoon’s or a fox's and noticeably different from those of Ratchet and Alister Azimuth, who both have tails similar to that of a lion. She wears a pair of black goggles with blue lenses on her head, silver hoop earrings in each ear (two on the right and one on the left), a black and gray jumpsuit with a silver belt, an orange scarf, a black left glove with two orange stripes almost at the end, and black boots with an orange detail. The fur on her forehead resembles a tuft of hair. Rivet is a lombax with white fur with pigeon blue stripes, thin dark eyebrows, a small light pink nose, and light blue eyes. ![]()
